Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti delivered his 2016 State of the City address from Noribachi, a Harbor City-based custom LED manufacturer for high-output commercial and industrial solutions.
More than 500 people packed Noribachi to listen to Mayor Garcetti’s third State of the City address. Some of the VIPs attending were Los Angeles City Council President Herb Wesson (District 10), Los Angeles Council members Joe Buscaino (District 15), Curren Price (District 9), Marqueece Harris-Dawson (District 8), Mike Bonin (District 11), Mitch Englander (District 12), Mitch O’Farrell (District 13), José Huizar (District 14), Paul Koretz (District 5), David Ryu (District 4), Bob Blumenfield (District 3), Paul Krekorian (District 2), Nury Martinez (District 6), City Controller Ron Galperin, Assemblymember Sebastian Ridley-Thomas, Los Angeles Assessor Jeffrey Prang, LACCD Board President Scott Svonkin, LACCD Trustee Mike Fong, LACCD Trustee Nancy Pearlman.
Mayor Garcetti spoke passionately about economic recovery, decreasing unemployment and encouraging prosperity for Angelenos, and discussed his choice of Noribachi for the annual address.
“In the year since Noribachi moved to Los Angeles, the demand for their products has soared, and their staff more than doubled to 170 employees,” he says. “We helped land Noribachi because they reflect who we are as Angelenos, and who we want to be as a city: They’re high-tech. They’re inventive. They’re green. They’re global.”
“We were proud to host Mayor Garcetti’s State of the City address,” says Rhonda Dibachi, chairman of Noribachi. “We manufacture our Bespoke Engineered and Specifically Tailored (BEST) LED products in L.A. on purpose. It is in part because of Mayor Garcetti’s support that we are able to continue our accelerated growth. Los Angeles is a wonderful place, with an abundance of talent, manufacturing partners and business services.”
Noribachi has proudly achieved 17 consecutive quarter-over-quarter growth since moving to the Los Angeles area in January 2012, while other companies have taken their manufacturing operations overseas.
