LaMar Lighting Co. introduces Shade, a decorative architectural luminaire with the energy-saving benefits of occu-smart bi-level lighting technology. Combining design with functionality, Shade accommodates several lighting needs and enhances a variety of spaces, from corridors and lobbies to offices and retail.

Ideal for areas where full light levels are not required on a constant basis, Shade comes equipped with fully integrated occu-smart technology. A sensitive ultrasonic sensor keeps lights low or off to save energy during unoccupied times and switches instantaneously to high light levels upon occupancy.

The contemporary round shade fixture blends seamlessly into any interior, providing soft, even illumination. Specially designed shade fabric is laminated to a flexible acrylic backer that will not yellow with use to ensure long product life, and customers can select from several fabric patterns. The surface mounted luminaire measures 19 1/4 or 24 1/4 inches on diameter and 5 1/4 inches tall.

Shade is available either with LED lamps or in a variety of fluorescent lamp and ballast combinations. To assure long lamp life and proper operation of fluorescent models, the sensor incorporates a patented lamp conditioning circuit that keeps new lamps on for 100 hours.

LED models feature high-efficiency (more than 110 lm/W) LEDs with a rated life of more than 50,000 hours. Customers can choose from 12W and 16W LED models and from a range of color temperatures (3,000K standard or 2,700K, 4,000K and 5,000K on special order) with CRI of 80 and higher. Shade LED units may qualify for utility rebates.

All Shade fixtures are UL-listed and are assembled by members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) union in LaMar’s manufacturing facility on Long Island, N.Y.
