Belgian lighting manufacturer, Modular Lighting Instruments by MLI NA Corp., has continued to expand its North American product offerings through a partnership with Casambi. Pista, the manufacturer’s 48V magnetic track rail system is now compatible with Casambi modules, which can control lighting schemes and settings through Casambi’s Bluetooth Low Energy mesh network. The low-power wireless technology is available through all modern smartphones, tablets, and switches.
By installing a Casambi module onto the Pista track, users can control up to 64 Pista devices per Casambi dim module, through the Casambi app or by purchasing a switch (wired or wireless). Using the Casambi dim module in the Pista system eliminates the need for dedicated control wires such as 0-10V to be run to the track, which is ideal for remodel applications or when new control wiring is not an option.
The Casambi dim modules work by talking directly to DALI based Pista fixtures, allowing for discrete control of each fixture. After configuration, users can dim all fixtures in a group or individually, set scenes, schedules, and several other intelligent lighting functions. Accent lights such as Minude, Marbulito, Médard, and Smart tubed, or linear luminaires provide a number of combinations for lighting schemes. Illumination can also be adjusted so that Pista’s uplight fixture is on by night, creating a warm ambience even in large spaces.
Pista was originally launched in the North American market in December 2019, offering a variety of configurations including a Linear LED, Night Light LED, as well as seven other Modular Lighting Instruments spotlight and suspended fixtures: Médard 1.7, Marbulito, Marbulito suspended, Smart 1.9, Smart 1.9 suspended, Minude, or Minude suspended.
As Modular Lighting Instruments by MLI NA Corp. continues to expand its North American offerings, the company will launch more flexible luminaires and systems that satisfy the need for minimalist light fixtures that are UL and cUL listed for the North American market.
