Neolith by TheSize has been named a finalist in the 2019 Edison Awards Clean Manufacturing category for its HYDRO-NDD 2.0 decoration technique. The Edison Awards, named after Thomas Alva Edison, recognizes and honors the best innovators and innovations. Gold, silver and bronze award winners will officially be announced at the Edison Awards Gala on Thursday, April 4, 2019, in New York city.
Introduced in 2019, HYDRO Neolith Digital Design 2.0 (HYDRO-NDD 2.0) is a water-based sintered stone decoration technique that reduces the contaminating emissions sent into the environment from traditional slab decorating methods. HYDRO-NDD 2.0 builds off the proprietary Neolith Digital Design technology, delivering the same colors and surface details that resemble natural stone for surfacing applications, including countertops, flooring, facades and more. Designed with sustainability in mind, the process uses pigments existing within the industry to further enhance the saturation and textural definition expected from all-natural sintered stone surfaces, with reduced pollutant output.
“We are thrilled to be once again acknowledged as a finalist this year by the prestigious Edison Awards,” says Mar Esteve, director of marketing, Neolith. “By using HYDRO-NDD 2.0, a revolutionary new production process, our sintered stone slabs will continue to achieve exactly the same, high quality patterns, but with a much lower carbon footprint, embodying our commitment and shared vision with this awards program to bring sustainable, yet modern and elegant products to the forefront of the industry.”
All nominations were reviewed by the Edison Awards Steering Committee and the final ballot sent to an independent judging panel. The judging panel was comprised of more than 3,000 professionals from the fields of product development, design, engineering, science, marketing and education, including professional organizations representing a variety of industries and disciplines.
