NexRev’s HVAC Retrofit Product Will Save Customers More Than $30 Million in 2015

NexRev Inc., experts in improving the energy efficiency and reducing utility costs for the country’s retailers, announced a cost-savings milestone. Its installed base of its flagship HVAC retrofit product, DrivePak, passed the $1.00 saved per second mark. At this pace, DrivePak will save NexRev customers more than $30 million in 2015. Dollar value calculations are based the U.S. national average electricity price of $0.10 per kWh.

DrivePak is an option of Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) retrofit technology among the nation’s retailers and theatre chains. DrivePak VFD retrofit technology upgrades rooftop HVAC unit fans from constant full-speed operation to load-matching multiple speed operation. This upgrade provides a consistent reduction in total energy savings while improving, not decreasing, occupant comfort. These significant HVAC energy cost reductions are showing up as overall facility energy savings of 13 to 22 percent for many customers.

“This is a significant energy-efficiency achievement for DrivePak. Our national accounts customer base has a true appreciation of the financial results from this optimization of their existing equipment,” says Josh Riddle, NexRev director of operations. “Being able to upgrade the efficiency of existing equipment, potentially extending its life and delaying equipment replacement is huge for our customers, as is immediately reducing their energy spend.”

NexRev previously announced the milestone of installing its 25,000th DrivePak unit in Woodbridge, N.J.
