The Associated Air Balance Council (AABC) has announced a new AIA-approved webinar in their TAB Talk series to take place on March 21, 2024, where the speaker will examine the Test and Balance of a complex smoke control system in a correctional facility. This building utilizes single duct systems with automatic changeover dampers served by multiple fans during both normal and smoke control modes. Since the system must support 24/7 operation without the ability to evacuate occupants, prioritization must be given to the smoke control mode without compromising indoor environmental quality during normal operation.
Learning Objectives:
- Prioritization of smoke control mode with normal and emergency systems
- System performance on permanent and emergency power
- Documentation for multiple modes of operations
- Coordination with designer of record before and after balancing
