Wattstopper License Agreement Supports Advanced Digital Lighting

Wattstopper has announced that it has signed a license agreement with Lumenetix to combine capabilities to support advanced digital lighting applications. This agreement focuses on Lumenetix blanco tunable white technology, a subset of Lumenetix’s araya5 platform, which enables lighting fixture manufacturers and specifiers to address market demands for precision dimming and human centric lighting (HCL) systems.

The lighting industry is entering the next phase of LED innovation, moving beyond energy efficiency and ease of control to new light functionality. Color control, circadian rhythm, and task tuning are emerging as specification requirements with opportunities in healthcare, higher education, retail, and residential.

“The decision to partner with Wattstopper was because their approach to lighting controls focuses on simplicity, flexibility, and scalability,” says Jeffrey Saake, executive vice president of marketing at Lumenetix. “By integrating our technologies and expertise, we’re helping customers realize the benefits of advanced lighting systems.

The integration of expanded Lumenetix blanco solutions with Wattstopper Digital Lighting Management (DLM) and Architectural Dimming platforms and products, will offer a robust digital lighting system.

Features and benefits:

  • Flexibility of light engine choices
  • Pperformance dimming
  • Individual fixture control and monitoring
  • Optical and thermal performance management
  • Easy set up and commissioning with Wattstopper’s patented Plug n’ Go automatic configuration
  • Ease of scalability

Wattstopper DLM and Architectural Dimming integration platforms are designed to comply with energy codes and standards and simplify design for future space requirements.

“Digital controls continue to play a role in the advancement of lighting systems. Increased functionality, including dynamic lighting and tunable white, will enable lighting experiences that were not possible before,” said Jim Young, VP of strategy and business development for the Building Control Systems Division at Legrand. “Through our partnership with Lumenetix, we will enable new lighting applications while reducing the complexity of design, installation, and operation of the LED lighting systems.”
